Elements and Performance Criteria

1. Assemble moulds/cores
   • Dry, glue and vent moulds/cores as required to specification and close
   • Set runner bush to specification as required
2. Restore work area
   • Leave the work site in a safe state, including clearing all materials/debris from the worksite
   • Dispose of unwanted treated sand according to SOPs and legislative and statutory requirements
3. Determine job requirements
   • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
4. Comply with work health and safety (WHS) requirements at all times
5. Use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with SOPs
6. Identify job requirements from specifications, job sheets or work instructions
7. Conduct pre-operational checks
   • Select and inspect pattern/core box for conformance to specifications and clean as required
8. Identify damaged patterns/core boxes for repair or replacement
9. Set up pattern/core box in bolster and core box according to specifications
10. Operate machine to produce mould/cores
    • Select appropriate moulding media to produce mould and core to specification
11. Fill moulds/cores to specification
12. Unload machine in a safe manner
13. Strip, inspect and paint moulds/cores as required
    • Dry, glue and vent moulds/cores as required to specification and close
14. Set runner bush to specification as required
    • Leave the work site in a safe state, including clearing all materials/debris from the worksite
15. Dispose of unwanted treated sand according to SOPs and legislative and statutory requirements
